We started as four people and a shared pet peeve
Echo Tours came about because we were tired of tour setups that looked identical no matter where they took place. We wanted to work with guides who actually live in the place, in groups small enough that you get time to ask what you're curious about.
How we work
The guide decides the route. We don't overrule the guide.
Most tour companies build a route and then look for a guide who can follow it. We do it the other way around: we find people who know a place well, and build the trip around what they actually want to show.
That means two trips in the same category can look quite different from one season to the next — because the guide adjusts for weather, light, and what's worth the time that particular week.
What we believe
"A good trip is one you remember details from, not just a place you've ticked off."
That's why we build in plenty of time to stop, ask questions and take photos — instead of cramming in as many stops as possible per day.

Year 1
Started with one route
Echo Tours began as weekend trips for friends of friends, planned by people who knew the terrain well.

More local guides joined
As more people wanted to come along, we sought out guides who shared the same approach to small groups and unhurried time.

We've deliberately avoided growing past what a single guide can follow up on well.
